Allowed. Allowed. Allowed. It he wasn't ALLOWED to live there then he wouldn't be living there. Plus he did the crime and paid his time stop harassing him.

Well according to registration laws, he is by law required to inform law enforcement or the correct authorities of his residence (which is obviously what he did because you would not have found it if you didn’t) and he is allowed to live there, I know it is a crime of what he did, but do you know what kind of crime he was convicted of? Just because he was convicted of a crime does not mean it was a major crime (look at the sexting, a boyfriend sent his girlfriend’s naked picture to someone else, but because he did he is now a convicted sex offender, does not mean he is an animal, just he did the wrong thing according to the law) You have to give someone the benefit of the doubt, and until he goes against the law (any type of crime i.e. harassment) he is allowed to walk. (I know it says convicted of child sexual abuse which could have been placed to make something out of nothing, not saying it did, but want you to keep that in mind).

I know it is creepy and if he is a major criminal I would agree, but again I would recommend to find out what he did before pressing judgment

On your notice about it, you have to think in the minds of the Realtors, would you be able to sell a house if you told people there was a sex offender in the neighborhood? They are not required to relate that information, it is up to the potential buyers or renters.

not really sure about if he can live there but i think as long as they severed there sentence for the crime they just have to register where they live. No ones obligated to tell you before you buy a house. but next time you move id research the area first. so like hes act a bit suspicious hanging around the play ground without watching kids of his own. if his actions seem odd or supsious you could call the law and tell them theres a know sex offender hanging around the playground and see if they could patrol the area .if he hasn’t been bothering any kids i don’t they could make him leave he has rights to. but if he has bad intention them patrolling around the area might make him think twice.

Convicted sex offenders’ living restrictions are governed by your state laws. We’d need to know what state you’re in to answer this.

As far as you asking: "…And should this have been told to us before buying the home…" I am going to refer you back to your realtor. If you think that living in close proximity to a sex offender creates a situation that would allow you to negate your purchase contract, your realtor can help you.
