I would like to be a councelor for sexual abuse victims.?
I cannot find any online information on the necessary education requirements to become a counselor for victims of sexual abuse.
Also, is there a specific law enforcement field that specializes in investigating and apprehending sexual predators? I would like to get into a field where I can either help victims of sexual abuse or put their assailants to justice. Any relevant information would be of great help.
Gebirgsjager, aren’t you a funny bastard? You think sexual abuse is a funny subject? Then pray that you never end up in prison you douche bag.
To become a SA counsellor in most countries you would need to do a degree in something like psychology or social work. You may also work with survivors in some related fields like in a refuge or as a crisis carer for children who have been removed by CPS workers. Another option is to volunteer at your local crisis phone service like life line, kids helpline or something like that. Most of them provide inhouse training. There’s also organisations like the Salvation Army, Amnesty International and organised religions that have programs.

As far as law enforcement goes, you could become a regular police officer and then do training to specialise in sex crimes. Alternately you could train to be involved in the global virtual taskforce.
