Priest Abuse and Clergy Sexual Abuse Information

The reason I am asking this is because I am writing a teen drama story and the main protagonist Deanna Santos is a victim of sexual abuse. I’m not really sure how it all goes down in New York when it comes to abuse. But if there is anyone who knows what exactly the law is….please let me know. It would be very helpful.
