The US attorney-general has appointed a federal prosecutor to head a new probe into allegations that CIA interrogators abused terrorism suspects.
The announcement came as the CIA released a five-year-old report which gives fresh details about the ways in which detainees were abused, including death threats and threatened sexual abuse of a suspect’s mother.
