Since Christian priests can’t get married, to avoid sexual abuse, should their penis removed?

March 31st, 2010

I’m thinking of a solution to the sexual abuse problems in the Church.
Ancient chinese slaves in Ching dynasty are all removed to avoid such problems.
Maybe leave 1 or 2 inches for sex identification?
I don’t think anyone should be offended by this question unless they’re a priest who done something wrong?
Sure, but how about we start [...]

More Catholic Priest Sex Abuses Cases – are they statistically worse than other churches?

March 31st, 2010

Two more articles on msnbc today regarding catholic priest sex abuse (3 priests in Brazil caught on tape, ex-Vienna boy’s choir members allege sex abuse).
These incidents have been coming out for years in all countries. The problem seems to be so deeply engrained… so, a few questions:
1) Do you think this problem is worse [...]

March 30th, 2010

Do they go to jail and prison like most sex offenders (and what is prison like for them) Or are they excused by their church?

Catholic priest child abuse?

March 29th, 2010

I dont want to offend anyone but I am so upset by the continued reports of priests, (supposedly men of God) abusing young boys…it just makes me sick. I dont understand how these men, sworn to obey Gods laws, could do such horrific acts. I understand they are not to be sexually active but if [...]

What leads so many Priest to child abuse?

March 28th, 2010

Makes you wonder if predators go into the catholic clergy to get access to children, the strain of celibacy, or is there an even more hideous sub-culture that indoctrinates them into such sickness.

I’m not a catholic, and I am as much against child abuse as the next guy, but I think you’re overly exaggerating things [...]

March 27th, 2010

JR – I think you are missing the point of Logan’s question – he is asking the opinion of Catholics; if you are not Catholic don’t reply. Duhhhh – did you graduate grade school?
Logan: anyone with a conscience would never condone the abuse of children. I feel the Church, should not harbor [...]

March 27th, 2010

The mainstream media has all but ignored the recent Associated Press report that the three major insurance companies for Protestant Churches in America say they typically receive 260 reports each year of minors being sexually abused by Protestant clergy, staff, or other church-related relationships.
In light of the sex abuse scandal that rocked the Catholic Church [...]

Christians, what are you’re reactions to the recent Catholic priest sex abuse cases?

March 27th, 2010

Recently in Ireland, we have cases of priests molesting children, these priests go into the priesthood, not to spread the Word of God, but to use their position to gain the trust of children and molest them, and what’s worst, the parishes are covering the cases up, by moving the priests to another parish, over [...]

Why does the pope continue to let the priest abuse the children?

March 26th, 2010

Just wondering.
I don’t think the pope is letting any Priest Abuse children. Please remember these horrible acts are of someone that took an oath for these purposes to commit his crime. These horrific acts happen in all religious faiths and not just of this faith.
In all religions we assume everyone is honest and [...]

In light of Matthew 7:17,20 and the rampant sexual abuse of children at the hands of priests…?

March 22nd, 2010

and systemic cover-up by those in positions of authority, what conclusion can we draw about the Catholic Church? (I recognize there are many sincere Catholics who are searching for God and I do not hate Catholics individually)
Jon and Marysia: Then we can conclude the same thing about the Catholic and Protestant Churches, you’re absolutely right. [...]
